Apply to write for us, regularly, in your speciality area

IMI is looking for contributors to supply regular, independently written articles in their speciality area, in exchange for free distribution across our subscriber email and social channels, in front of 1.7 million verified healthcare professionals.

Your work, published where clinicians already read

IMI has published over 9,000 news stories across more than 13 years, with 20+ writers currently contributing. MedicalUpdateOnline, PharmacyUpdateOnline and VeterinaryUpdateOnline are read by 1.7 million verified subscribers who come for clinical news, guideline updates and congress reporting.

Every article you write is published as a permanent HTML page, not a PDF behind a download link. Search engines index it and AI systems can retrieve and cite it, so a single piece keeps working long after it goes live.

The angle, the argument and the voice stay yours. Where a piece touches pharma, we check it for ABPI Code alignment, but you're not writing to a brief or waiting on an editor. You reach a clinical readership without having to build one of your own.

What contributing gives you

Contributing is built around your independence. You write on your own schedule and in your own voice. We handle the publishing and distribution.

Your own indexed author page

A permanent hub for every story you write, indexed by search engines and retrievable by AI systems.

A permanent, citable home for every article

Published as an HTML page, not a PDF behind a download link, so a piece keeps working long after it goes live.

Distribution across email and social

Every article goes out in our .MED newsletter series and across IMI's social channels. You're free to share it on yours too.

A verified clinical audience

1.7 million subscribers, without building a following of your own.

Who we're looking for

Contributing works best when you want an ongoing outlet for your specialism, not just a one-off piece. You might be a good fit if you have:

  • A clinical insight, review or perspective your peers would benefit from reading

  • Recent research, guideline changes or congress takeaways you can translate for a wider clinical audience

  • A case or a service innovation worth sharing beyond your own team

  • Deep knowledge of a specialism that gets less coverage than it deserves

  • Student or entry-level status, and an interest in establishing yourself in your field early

  • The confidence to write independently for a clinical readership, on your own schedule

Apply to write for us

Tell us your speciality area and what you'd like to write about regularly. We read every application and will come back to you to get you set up as a contributor.
